Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Assam on May 9-10, where he will inaugurate a 300-bed super-specialty hospital under Gauwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
He will also launch a few projects during his Assam visit to mark one year of the present BJP-led government.
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed about preparedness ahead of Shah's visit.
''Ahead of Adarniya Griha Mantri Shri @AmitShah Ji's visit to Assam, held a discussion with @BJP4Assam karyakartas to review preparedness.
Also deliberated on marking the completion of one year of our Govt and sought their active participation in the programs.
@HMOIndia,'' he tweeted.
Reportedly, Shah will also attend a program, on May 10, where the President of India Ram Nath Kovind is going to bestow a rare honour on Assam Police, the President's Colours Award.
Apart from these, the Home Minister will also inaugurate the work on the new deputy commissioner's and police commissioner's office buildings in Guwahati. He will also address a rally in Guwahati on the occasion.
As per Assam CM, Shah will also inaugurate the work on the national forensic institute in Guwahati.
